North Clwyd Animal Rescue - Christmas Open Day

Like many good and responsible rescues, running costs are at an all time high due to the large volumes of animals being abandoned, abused or simply no longer wanted. North Clwyd Animal Rescue is a very good rescue, it cares for all the animals in its care and some of these animals have been there too long. I have been a supporter of this rescue for a few years now, I have walked the dogs, run stalls at the open days, arranged fund raising when working at HBOS and most recently become a Home Checker for animals being rehomed.

To help raise the much needed funds to care for their animals, the annual Christmas Open Day is being held on Sunday 12th December between 11am and 3.00pm.

Why not come along and visit the animals in their care, and you can even leave gifts for them in their very own stocking. Father Christmas will be making a special visit to the children and dogs that come along on the day. With a variety of stalls, tombolas, raffles, entertainment and refreshments served all day, the Christmas Open day is not to be missed.

If anyone is looking to give a home to a new dog, cat, rabbit or guinea pig I would strongly urge you to visit this rescue or give them a call to discuss the type of animal that you are looking for.

Visit their website where you can find more information about the rescue, directions on how to get there and all the animals looking for forever homes. http://www.ncar.org.uk/

When we got our boxer pup, Murphy we needed to find someone reliable, trustworthy, caring and flexible to help look after him when we couldn’t be around - how relieved we were to find Hazel. She’s excelled our expectations and really couldn’t have managed without her. We leave Murphy knowing that when Hazel visits (sometimes twice a day) he’ll be extremely well looked after, fussed, fed and walked. All visits meet not only our needs but also Murphy’s needs. When he was a puppy Hazel played with him and now he’s able to go out she varies the activities and walks she takes him on. Hazel has supported us in his training by working on his socialisation, heel and lead walking during her visits. Recently he’s been out in her car to the local field on a long line lead practising recall which is just fantastic. Not only does Murphy have a great time but he’s shattered so we don’t have to worry about taking him out in the evening. Even better is the fact that once Hazel leaves he had so much fuss, attention and exercise that he sleeps which means we don’t come home to find he’s dug even more holes in the garden!

Hazel’s been flexible and accommodating when arranging dates and times and has often come to our rescue at very short notice. I love the fact she texts to let me know how things have gone. Each visit she’s totally focused on Murphy and conveys a real interest in him and his development - I’m sure she’s exactly the same with all her other clients. We feel totally confident allowing Hazel into our house, she offers fantastic service in a professional and client-centred way. Her dedication and love of pets is obvious and she is knowledgeable and skilled in animal behaviour.

I can’t speak highly enough of Hazel and her services and have no hesitation in recommending her to anyone with pets. For us Hazel has been invaluable, Murphy and I can’t thank her enough.

Dear Hazel

I would like to say a huge and heartfelt thank you to you for looking after our cats when we have been working away or on holiday this year, and to thank you in advance for all the other visits you will make in the future.

Like many pet owners, the demand on family members to come by each day and look after our cats was sometimes too much for the family members, and not enough for our girls. Until you came along, we had been wary of having a stranger in our home, and taking responsibility for our girls. We needn’t have worried with you though!

Each time we have returned home after you have been looking after them, they have been calm and content, sometimes acting as if we’d only been gone a few hours! This is amazing, bearing in mind their very different personalities and preferences - one that is very shy, prefers to be left alone and seeks attention on her own terms, and the other that would demand attention 24/7 if she could get it!

We find your text updates letting us know how they’re getting comforting and reassuring, especially when we’ve been away for a few days at a time. I can’t recommend your services highly enough and would be pleased to provide a reference to any prospective clients.

Your flexible services working around each client, in our case paying two or more visits a day to enable the cats to be out and about and have cuddles and attention is important to us, especially during the summer when they like to roam around.

We are comfortable leaving our cats and our keys with you, knowing they are in safe hands, which makes our trips away all the more enjoyable as we know we will be returning to happy girls, no post on the doorstep, and plants still alive – all of which are part of the extended service and are really appreciated, thanks!
